General Information

Summary:
This course is required to become a ACI certified Post-installed Concrete Anchor Inspector. The anticipated audience is Structure Control Engineers and construction inspection staff who will oversee the installation of post installed concrete anchor systems. Participants in this course will receive both written and hands-on training related to the install and inspection of the various types of post installed concrete anchor systems. The participant will receive the course materials in advance and be expected to review the documents prior to the start of the course.
To obtain the certification, participant must pass a two part exam. Part1: The forty-five-minute installation examination is closed-book andconsists of approximately 45 multiple-choice questions (minimum score of 74%). Part 2: The two-hour inspection examination is open-book and consists of approximately 90 multiple-choice questions. To pass the
installation examination the examinee must attain a minimum score of 60%

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course and passing of the examinations, the participant will be a ACI certified Post-Installed Concrete Anchor Installation Inspector. The Inspector will understand:
1. role on the jobsite. 2. periodic and continuous inspection and under what conditions each is required. 3. correct selection of installation procedures. 4. Proper location of anchors. 5. manufacturer’s instructions and the proper procedures, sequence, and tools to clean the hole. 6. Importance of proper selection and assembly of the injection
equipment. 7. Importance of injection of adhesive into holes at various orientations to the proper depth using proper technique and equipment to minimizes air voids. 8. time limits for installation and positioning of anchor element depending on conditions. 9. warning signs of potential deviation from the construction documents and the manufacturer printed

Teaching Method:
Participants in this class will review the learning materials that have been circulated to them as well as a variety of powerpoint presentations and videos.

Target Audience:
Structure Control Engineers and construction inspection staff who will oversee the
installation of post installed concrete anchor systems.

Special Materials:
The learning materials for this class will be circulated to attendees in advance of the class.
