Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Identify proper presentation criteria for construction drawings.
2. Identify a typical set of construction plans and the types of sheets that are involved.
3. Read and interpret the two views of roadway alignment (horizontal and vertical).
4. Read and interpret the cross section views, including superelevations on curve cross sections.
5. Identify the appropriate size of a drainage pipe.
6. Determine the quantity of pavement basin drain required.
7. Identify legal Right-of-Way lines, property lines, and temporary easements for construction.
8. Review bridge plans to identify basic structure elements and features.
9. Read and interpret supplementary plans.
10. Identify the location, type and specifications of utility facilities, both existing and proposed.
11. Define and locate a segment offset.
