General Information

Summary:
This webinar identifies the inspection, pollution prevention, and reporting expectations of PennDOT personnel, as defined in NPDES Permit I-1315-00-05-0002 issued to PennDOT to operate its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4). An overview of the NPDES Permit will be provided but specific focus will be on two Permit-defined minimum control measures (MCMs): 1) Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination, and 2) Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping. Documentation and reporting of PennDOT’s activities to achieve these MCMs is a requirement of the Permit, and discussion will include technical term definitions, reporting procedures and format, definition of responsibilities, and cross-reference to existing PennDOT operational procedures.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, attendees will:
• have an understanding of the NPDES permit requirements,
• know the expectations of certain maintenance personnel
• understand the internal and external reporting procedures, and
• know the internal resources to clarify or to obtain further information.

Target Audience:
