General Information

Summary:
This course provides a basic understanding of the Planning and Programming process. The primary goal is to show the relationship between funds management and the delivery of projects. It presents basic examples of federal and state funding and also illustrates the candidate project selection and long range planning processes.

Learning Outcomes:
Following this course the participants will be able to:
-comprehend Federal and State funding principles.
-understand the basics of financial guidance.
-understand short, medium and long range planning.
-recognize the importance of public involvement and communication throughout the project delivery process.
-understand the roles of the various partners involved in developing a transportation program.
-understand the key factors that affect project implementation.

Prerequisites:
None

Target Audience:
Project Managers, Portfolio Managers, Design Services Engineers, Central Office Project Development and Roadway Management staff, Fiscal Officers, District Maintenance Services personnel and entry level Planning and Programming personnel.
