Description:

Course content reflects current Pennsylvania laws, regulations and PennDOT policies and satisfies flagger training requirements as cited in PennDOT Publication 213.

-- Understand the purposes of flagging, flagger characteristics and abilities, and flagger conduct.
-- Recognize the four components of a work zone, common traffic control devices, and common traffic control setups.
-- Recognize information on some of the equipment and attire available to help a flagger safely perform their duties.
-- Define a flagging station, its location in a work zone, flagger visibility, safety and positioning.
-- Understand specific flagging procedures for various situations including: single flagger using a stop/slow paddle or red flag,
two-person flagging team, flagging at intersections, and nighttime flagging.
-- Identify proper and improper and flagging procedures.

Business Partners who use this training are encouraged to develop their own end-of-course assessment to evaluate each learner’s level of knowledge. There is no certificate for completing these trainings.

Awarding continuing education credits (PDH/CEU/CEH) to a training course or other training event does not imply or guarantee that the training course/event is approved by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Land Surveyors.

According to Pennsylvania Act 25, “Credit determination for activities…shall be the responsibility of the licensee.  Continuing professional competency obtained by a licensee should maintain, improve or expand skills or knowledge obtained prior to initial licensure, including law and ethics applicable to the profession, or develop new and relevant skills and knowledge.”
