General Information

Summary:
The course provides training on and resources for personnel who require overall incident management skills rather than tactical expertise.

Learning Outcomes:
The course objectives are as follows:
• Explain how major incidents pose special management challenges.
• Describe the circumstances in which Area Command is established.
• Describe the circumstances in which multiagency coordination systems are established.

Teaching Method:
Classroom Instruction

Prerequisites:
ICS 100, ICS 200 and ICS 700 which are all web-based and must be taken in this order as well as the ICS-300 classroom course.

Target Audience:
Primary Audiance: Area Commanders, Members of the Area Command Center, District Incident Commanders.
Secondary Audiance if space is available:County Maintenance Managers, Assistant County Maintenance Managers, County Equipment Managers, District Executive Staff, District ICC Staff, Hwy. Admin Deputy & Bureau Directors.

Special Materials:
Course materials will be provided at class.
