General Information

Summary:
The PennDOT Certified Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification Program (NECEPT) has two levels of certifications for concrete technicians. The Certified Concrete Field Technician certification is for five (5) years.

The Certified Concrete Field Technician-in-Training certification, detailed in Publication 536, is for the calendar year issued. Target Audience: Concrete Technicians Prerequisites for initial certification: Applicant must successfully complete ACI’s Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 Course. ACI issues a wallet card to the individual upon successful – Grade 1 wallet card."

Prerequisites:
Applicant must successfully complete ACI’s Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 Course.
ACI issues a wallet card to the individual upon successful completion of the course. Acceptable proof of having completed the course is a photocopy of the applicant’s current ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 wallet card.
ALL ONLINE APPLICATIONS AND FEES MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 15 BUSINESS DAYS (3 WEEKS) BEFORE THE COURSE DATE! NO EXCEPTIONS

This is Prerequisite For:
This requirement needs to be completed ONLY once in the applicant’s career provided their status as a Certifiied PENNDOT Concrete Field Technician continues uninterrupted.

RETESTS:
The cost for a retest is $35. ONE retest is permitted ONLY for those who ATTENDED a 2024 concrete course and failed the exam. All retests must take place no sooner than 30 days after the original test date and no later than 120 after the original test date. Only the OFFICIAL retest dates are options. RETEST dates will be posted on this site by January 20, 2024.

Special Materials:
Each applicant will receive course confirmation via e-mail. It is imperative that at least one valid e-mail address be listed on the application. Classes & testing will be administered virtually through the WebEx™ Platform. A standard laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and consistent internet access of at least 3.0 Mbps will be required to take the course. Mobile devices (iPad, Tablet, Droid, Chromebook, Surface Tablet, etc.) CANNOT be used because they WILL NOT connect to the exam.

Continuing Education Credits



Awarding continuing education credits (PDH/CEU/CEH) to a training course or other training event does not imply or guarantee that the training course/event is approved by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Land Surveyors.

According to Pennsylvania Act 25, “Credit determination for activities…shall be the responsibility of the licensee.  Continuing professional competency obtained by a licensee should maintain, improve or expand skills or knowledge obtained prior to initial licensure, including law and ethics applicable to the profession, or develop new and relevant skills and knowledge.”

For informational purposes only:1 CEU is equal to 10 hours of instruction
1 CEH is equal to 1 hour of instruction
