General Information

Summary:
This course focuses on the advanced techniques of Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT). Course includes classroom time as well as hands-on application of this nondestructive testing technique. Training meets the minimum recommended for Level II technicians by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the course, attendees will be able to:
Safely use PT equipment
Understand applicable Code requirements
Determine best method to be used
Test welds and base metal related to bridge and highway application
Accept / reject as necessary
Report findings

Prerequisites:
Must have attended and passed the Liquid Penetrant Testing - Level 1 (NDT) Training course.

Target Audience:
District Structural Control Engineers, Bridge Design and Technology Division Structural Materials Testing personnel, Asset Management Bridge Inspection personnel
