Summary: | This course provides the PennDOT Class C Operator with an understanding of the requirements and expectations of their position. The instruction includes PADEP-mandated technical storage tank topics required to comply with Pennsylvania and Federal storage tank regulations, and PennDOT-specific procedures, protocols, and requirements. This training references the Department's recently published Storage Tank Manual (Publication 694) and provides some facility-specific information available in other written documents such as the facility's Combined Facility Response Plan (CFRP). The course covers: 1) An introduction of the management of regulated and unregulated storage tanks (USTs and ASTs) ; 2) Understanding of facility-specific inspections, maintenance, and records retention requirements; 4) Corrective actions and emergency response planning (CFRP). Facility personnel that are responsible for inspection, inspection form completion, pumping, fill oversight, non-license required maintenance procedures, and other procedures specific to their facility operation should attend

Learning Outcomes: | A.Understand general roles and responsibilities of PennDOT's Storage Tank Class A, B, and C operators. B.Understand the broad regulatory environment governing the installation, operation, maintenance, and closure of regulated and unregulated above and underground storage tanks. C.Understand the specific responsibilities of Class C operators in the day-to-day operation of storage tanks at their facility. D.Comply Federal and State Regulations and PennDOT policies.
