General Information

Summary:	This two-day training course provides instruction on how to use Open Plan as a project management tool. The core components of this course are Project Schedule Set-up, Schedule Review/Approval, Schedule Monitoring and Management, Interfacing with WelcomHome, Workload Analysis, and Open Plan Reporting. Participants will also be given a brief refresher on the Critical Path Method. The training’s instructional lecture will be supplemented with in-class demonstrations and computer-based exercises. The combination of project development and software demonstration is designed to maximize learning, understanding, and skill transferred to the worksite.
Learning Outcomes:	Following this course the participants will be able to: •Interpret the critical path and project float. •Identify the causes of negative float. •Ensure project schedules are setup following PennDOT standards. •Review schedules to identify logic and duration flaws. •Properly progress activities; recognize and correct out of sequence progression. •Understand how Open Plan is being used as a reporting tool. •Apply sound management of schedules via the WelcomHome portal. •Demonstrate an understanding of workload analysis. •Identify appropriate steps in problem solving and decision-making. •List the steps necessary to archive a project.
Prerequisites:	Must have previously attended an Open Plan WelcomHome session.
