General Information

Summary:
This course was designed to give an overview of the Bridge Watch system. This course discusses the engineering background and real-time data analysis of storm precipitation in the system and how it applies that precipitation to the Department's Scour Critical Bridge Inventory. There will be a discussion about how to respond to the system, future improvements and future Bridge Inspection policy updates. There will also be short demonstration of system.
It is recommended that all participants familiarize themselves with the system and prepare questions about the system before the training.
It is also recommended that all participants expand their experience with the system immediately following the training to see what has been resolved and what what new questions have arisen.

Learning Outcomes:
Understand how the Bridge Watch system works.
Access and respond to data within the system.
Understand the difference between Tickets and Forms.
Respond to the Bridge Watch system precipitation data.
Understand how each structure has a unique H&H profile.
Understand the increase of microbursts and importance of their data.
Access more data before, during and after storm events.
Better manage bridge assets and protect public safety during storm events.
