General Information

Summary:
This course provides a review of the Statewide Section 106 Programmatic Agreement (PA). Publication 689, the Cultural Resources Handbook, describes how the Section 106 PA establishes the principles, and procedures for consideration of cultural resources in the project development process. Attendees are expected to have an introductory knowledge of Section 106 and implementing regulations as well as the Cultural Resources Handbook Basics Course. The course is designed to provide attendees, who have been delegated duties under the Section 106, a refresher of the Programmatic Agreement and Handbook.

Learning Outcomes:
Following this course the participants will be able to:
•Apply the current version of the Section 106 Programmatic Agreement
•Determine whether a project is exempt under the Section 106 PA
•Identify who is able to make exemption determinations
•Successful completion of this course allows those serving as District Designees to retain that delegation, in conjunction with other Section 106 training.

None - although attendees are expected to have an introductory knowledge of Section 106 and implementing regulations, as well as the Cultural Resources Handbook Basics Course.
