General Information

Summary:
This webinar provides an overview of PennDOT’s new waste tracking spreadsheet tool and its use. This waste tracking is applicable to maintenance personnel and is used to support the preparation of various regulatory-required waste/recycling reports. This webinar includes some regulatory context to define and give examples of various waste types/categories used to making an accurate waste determination. An overview of Pennsylvania Department of General Services, Bureau of Surplus and Supplies recycling reporting, Pennsylvania residual waste generator status determination and biennial reporting, hazardous waste generator status determination, and county/municipal recycling reporting is also provided. Examples of sources where information can be collected for input into the waste tracking spreadsheet are reviewed and instruction is provided for how to input the required information. Use of the waste tracking spreadsheet to support generator status tracking and waste/recycling reporting will also be demonstrated along with spreadsheet maintenance recommendations.

Learning Outcomes:
Attendees will be instructed in the applicable regulatory background to accurately make waste determinations, understand recordkeeping requirements to support waste reporting, and understand waste reporting requirements. Use of a waste tracking spreadsheet to compile information and generate summary information for waste reporting will also be demonstrated.
