General Information

Summary:
The course is a four-hour virtual training session with the purpose of improving the quality of PA DEP Chapter 102 (E&S/NPDES) and Chapter 105/USACE Section 404 (Water Obstruction/Encroachment) permit submissions.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Understand the importance of schedule and coordination with team members, the District and permitting agencies.
2. Understand quality assurance goals related to waterway and earth disturbance permit submissions and using the Pub. 783 QA Checklists.
3. Identify the elements of PA DEP Chapter 102, PA DEP Chapter 105, and USACE Section 404 permits.
4. Understand common quality issues and comments from permitting agencies and how to address them.

Prerequisites:
Be familiar with the development and submission requirements for Water Obstruction and Encroachment and NPDES permit applications.

Target Audience:
The target audience is PennDOT and consultant design engineers and project managers who are responsible for the development or quality assurance review of permit submissions.
