General Information

Summary:
This webinar instructs District personnel how to identify the root cause of non-conformances under ISO 14001 in SEMP, as part of the corrective action process.
District ISO 14001 audits are performed as both internal audits, and registration audits performed by external auditors. Each nonconformance is tracked using a corrective action report (CAR). Proper use of the CAR form in the audit process is a critical component of maintaining ISO 14001 registration. Improper CAR tracking often results from inadequate root cause analysis.
Students will learn to properly identify and document the root cause of the non-conformance, select the corrective action, and identify/implement appropriate actions to prevent recurrence. It also includes the root cause analysis method and examples how to properly identify the cause(s), document the analytical process, and report the findings.

Learning Outcomes:
A.Identify the Root Cause of an identified non-conformance.
B.Document the root cause analysis through "The 5 Whys" process.
C.Select the appropriate corrective action(s) to address the non-conformance.
