General Information

Summary:
Provide a uniform, consistent background for all agency field personnel involved in asphalt paving operations.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the session, attendees should be able to improve and promote the quality of asphalt paving operations and materials thereby improving the quality of roads in the Commonwealth.

Teaching Method:
Classroom training with hands-on instruction as needed

Target Audience:
PennDOT maintenance personnel on a two-year rotation involved in the asphalt paving operation. This would include personnel associated with performing the following assemblies 711-7122, 711-7123, 711-7125; 711-7131; and 711-7135. Also included may be the Assistant Manager in charge of the paving crew, the Paving Foreman, Paver operator, Roller operators and the equipment operators hauling the material to the job site.

Continuing Education Credits



Awarding continuing education credits (PDH/CEU/CEH) to a training course or other training event does not imply or guarantee that the training course/event is approved by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Land Surveyors.

According to Pennsylvania Act 25, “Credit determination for activities…shall be the responsibility of the licensee.  Continuing professional competency obtained by a licensee should maintain, improve or expand skills or knowledge obtained prior to initial licensure, including law and ethics applicable to the profession, or develop new and relevant skills and knowledge.”
