General Information

Summary:
Presents an overview of coordination efforts and contract requirements necessary for highway and/or bridge projects that involve railroads. Project Managers will gain an understanding of their role, the District Grade Crossing Engineer's/Administrator's role, the involvement and requirements of the Public Utility Commission, impacts to project timelines, cost and bid package/contract requirements.

Learning Outcomes:
Introduce Project Managers to the key elements and process requirements for railroad involvement on Department highway and/or bridge projects.

Introduce Publication 371, Grade Crossing Manual, as a reference source.

Teaching Method:
Instructor Lead

Prerequisites:
Familiarity with the project and development and delivery process.
