<p><span style="color:Red"><strong>Reminder needs set up to have participants wear reflective vests and weather appropriate attire for Day Two's mock audit.</strong></span></p>
<p>This course is offering to PennDOT personnel only.&nbsp; Future classes should include a chargeback/no show.<br />Contact District 8-0's Dauphin County Maintenance Office, and Dale Good is the County Manager.&nbsp; His number is 787-5391.&nbsp; To request permission to do a mock audit in their district.<br /><br />Check with the County Manager to see if he would be available to attend the after audit presentations.&nbsp; This occurs the last day of training and begins usually around 1:00 p.m.&nbsp; Would need to confirm the time with the instructor.<br /><br />11/21/12 - Audits are normally conducted in Mar-April-May and Sept-Oct-Nov, schedule this class prior to these months.&nbsp; The Lead Auditor course is to be scheduled after the audit periods.<br /><br />11/21/12 - Maintenance related training, keep Lynn Phillips informed.<br />If schedulding at the LAB, some participants might not have e-mail addresses and will not receive directions to the facility.&nbsp; Let the DTC know of those in their district that will need directions hand delivered to them.</p>

General Information

Summary:
This training program was developed to provide a standardized approach for performing SEMP internal audits throughout the Districts. The course is provided to train PennDOT personnel who participate in SEMP internal audits. This training program introduces personnel to the internal auditing process and the internal audit cycle (audit preparation, performing the audit, the audit report and audit follow-up and closure). Additional components of the training focus on developing the audit skills necessary to perform successful audits including questioning techniques, interviewing skills and document and records review. Numerous exercises are incorporated in the training to provide practical experience including a practice audit at a PennDOT facility.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, an attendee will be able to:
1. Plan, prepare & successfully conduct an internal SEMP audit against established criteria & determine the degree of conformance.
2. Participate as an audit team member with specified roles & responsibilities.
3. Understand the purpose of an audit plan & the identified scope to ensure audits are effective in meeting audit program needs.
4. Identify nonconformances.
5. Compile objective audit evidence for the audit report.
6. Participate in follow-up activities to ensure effectiveness of corrective & preventive actions.
7. Identify opportunities for improving SEMP.

This is Prerequisite For:
Lead Internal Auditor - Participants are required to serve in the rold of Internal Auditor at least 6 months before receiving Lead Internal Auditor training/role.

Special Materials:
On Day 2 of the class, participants should wear / bring comfortable clothing, safety shoes and safety glasses for the practice audit.
