General Information
Summary:
The purpose of the GCEDMS Course is to introduce the Grade Crossing Electronic Document Management System, a new web-based system for maintaining grade crossing information and documents for PennDOT projects.
Learning Outcomes:
Through active participation in the class, the participant will be able to:
-Maintain Grade Crossing Inventory
-Perform Project Functions
-Perform Work Management Functions
-Perform Invoicing Functions
-Maintain Project Documents
-Manage Parties of Record
-Update Railroad and Contact Information
Prerequisites:
The course will be designed for basic level users with the following:
-Knowledge of the current business processes and procedures for grade crossing administration.
-General experience using Windows-based applications including Microsoft Word, general navigation, and the use of a mouse and computer keyboard.
-Experience using a web-browser (Internet-Explorer or Netscape Navigator) functions
-or-
-Attend an introductory class on using the Web
Target Audience:
This course is tailored to the needs of Grade Crossing Engineers and Administrators. Attendance will be by invitation only.
