General Information

Summary:
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is responsible to administer, monitor, and control the outdoor advertising devices (OADs) and junkyard programs. The Highway Beautification Management System (HBMS) was developed to enhance PennDOT's ability to effectively control the OAD permitting process. The HBMS training course equips personnel in the Districts with the skills to use HBMS to automate the application process, workflow, and customer communication.

Learning Outcomes:
After attending training, students will be able to perform the tasks noted below:
• Log in to HBMS
• Navigate within the HBMS application
• Create a new illegal sign record
• Search for an illegal sign record
• Update the illegal sign status
• Complete the application for existing sign process
• Create a new junk yard license
• Search for a junk yard license
• Update the junk yard license status
• Create junk yard surveillance record
• Search for junk yard surveillance record
• Complete sign discontinuation process
• Complete the permit revocation workflow process
* Access the invoice portal
* Import HBMS data onto Trimble device
* Export surveillance data into HBMS
* Search for OAD surveillance records

Teaching Method:
Instructor Led, Computer Based

Prerequisites:
Prior to attending training, participants should have the following pre-requisites:
• Basic understanding of the OAD control program.
• Basic computer proficiency in the use of a mouse, a keyboard and Internet Explorer
