Summary: | This course will introduce the attendees to the basics of using Crystal Reports report-writing features. Also, it describes basic relational database definitions and concepts. Additionally, it provides an overview of the BMS (Bridge Management System) Relational Bridge Inventory Database (RBIDB), and demonstrate the procedures for creating and publishing BMS specific reports using the Crystal Reports application.

Learning Outcomes: | Upon successful completion of the course, attendees will be able to: -Create, view, format, and save basic reports; -Use sort options, the Select Expert, and multiple criteria in the Selection Formula; -Use grouping and summarization -Create and edit reports using Report Expert; -Use and format options for Cross-Tab Reports; -Link relational databases, create formulae and Distribute data -Explain data modeling concepts -Understand BMS Relational Bridge Information Database (RBIDB) data model -Create single and multi-table reports that access data from one or more tables within the BMS RBIDB -Establish user-enterable parameters that allow BMS reports to limit the amount of data retrieved -Use grouping, sorting and summary functionality in BMS reports -Publish BMS reports to the Crystal Enterprise Web Server.

Prerequisites: | Knowledge of Crystal Reports basic, Excel intermediate, and attendees must be a current Crystal Reports user.

Target Audience: | PennDOT non-IT personnel that do not have experience with Crystal Reports that need to query and present BMS data for daily use.
