General Information
Summary:
This webinar identifies the methods to avoid or minimize maintenance-related cost and time delays associated with complying with Pennsylvania’s Management of Fill (MoF) policy. A summary of the MoF Policy is provided, and tasks that should be completed during the planning phase of a maintenance project to facilitate and implementation maintenance activities that generate soil will be presented. Discussion will also identify information that should be gathered so that cost and options for excess fill disposal/reuse offsite is limited or minimized, and the documentation that should be prepared for imported fill use. The considerations of beneficial reuse will be presented including interaction with PADEP, PennDOT reuse on another project, and documentation submission and retention. Project examples will be provided.
Learning Outcomes:
Attendees will be exposed to the MoF Policy intent and the impacts to PennDOT’s typical maintenance activities identified. Methods to avoid or minimize construction cost and time delays will be discussed.
