General Information

Summary:
In this course you will learn how to create a HEC-RAS input file in OpenRoads Designer that can be imported into HEC-RAS software with cross section data. In addition, this course will instruct designers how to calculate class 3 volumes between the existing surface and the bottom of bridge abutments.

Learning Outcomes:
Create Stream Centerline Geometry; Assign Stationing to the Stream Alignment; Create Break Line Features Representing Stream Banks and Overbanks; Create Cross Section Lines; Build HEC-RAS Import File; Import HEC-RAS File into HEC-RAS Software; Create Linear Templates for Slope Grading; Create Bottom Footing Shape for Abutments and Assign a Bottom Footing Elevation; Apply Linear Templates for Grading; Create Proposed Terrains; Analyze Volumes; Compare Volumes to End Area Volumes
