General Information

Summary:	The Bridge Maintenance Academy training course was developed for Bridge Maintenance Coordinators, Assistant County Maintenance Managers for Bridges, Assistant Bridge Engineers for Inspection and those who are directly involved in planning and coordinating bridge maintenance and repairs. . The purpose of the Bridge Maintenance Academy training is: • To promote the development of county and district-wide strategic bridge maintenance plans; • To share best practices on preventative maintenance and structural repairs between counties and districts; • To provide information on procurement of materials, required permits and contract work for bridge maintenance and repairs • To provide an overview of the bridge inspection program, BMS2, and SAP/Plant Maintenance.
Learning Outcomes:	The objectives of the Bridge Maintenance Academy training are: • To promote an understanding to the bridge inspection program and related regulations and policies; • To bridge the gap between the results of the a bridge inspection and recommended bridge maintenance; • To inform participants of Best Practices for structural repairs and preventative maintenance; • To inform participants of available resources for performing maintenance, including use of PennDOT forms and programs; • To promote the development of strategic plans for bridge maintenance.
