General Information

Summary:
Maintenance-IQ (GIS)
GIS Mapping is a perfect fit for maintenance because almost everything we do is location-based.
The purpose of this training is to provide maintenance managers “hands-on” training of how the Geospatial Information System (GIS) can be used to improve maintenance planning through data integration, analysis, and visualization to eliminate out-of-sequence rework (i.e., prep-type activities performed soon after a surface improvement), support getting selected maintenance activities on-cycle (in turn, decreasing on-demand maintenance needs and efforts), and to reduce mobilization and travel time costs.
Top 5 Maintenance-IQ Benefits:
• Improve Maintenance Planning
• Identify Coordination Opportunities (Regionalization)
• Increase Operational Efficiency
• Identify Maintenance Needs
• Visualize Planned vs. Completed Maintenance

Learning Outcomes:
•Understand how Maintenance-IQ (GIS) can be used for data integration, analysis, and visualization
•Understand the importance of data integrity and how to use Maintenance-IQ to perform data validation
•Understand where to find information (Data Dictionary) on data (Layer Catalog) available within Maintenance-IQ
•Learn how to use the various system (template) GIS maps within Maintenance-IQ to improve maintenance planning
•Learn to create simple custom GIS maps within Maintenance-IQ to answer maintenance-related questions
•Learn how to upload a spreadsheet and add it as a layer on a GIS map within Maintenance-IQ
