General Information

Summary:
This course provides an overview and reviews operational techniques related to surface improvement operations performed by PennDOT's maintenance personnel.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify the type of pavement distress and the causes
- select and implement the appropriate surface improvement treatment
- explain the principles of Surface Improvement
- Explain the Quality Assurance Evaluation process

Target Audience:
PennDOT maintenance personnel are required to attend Surface Improvement training every two years. Required personnel, Assistant Manager in charge of the paving crew, the paving foreman, paver operator, roller operators, distributor operators and stone chip operators.
