General Information

Summary:
This course provides project managers a basic overview of right-of-way terms, processes, and types, as they pertain to PennDOT. The course also reviews federal laws and regulations involving right-of-way.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, a participant will be able to:
•Define common Right-of-Way terms and processes.
•Describe the types of Right-of-Way encountered on PennDOT projects.
•Give examples of Federal laws and regulations involving Right-of-Way.
•Explain the five major steps in the Right-of-Way acquisition process.
•Analyze the impact of design changes on Right-of-Way acquisition.
•Describe the four conditions of Right-of-Way clearance.
•Describe the benefits gained from using Subsurface Utility Engineering.

Prerequisites:
None

Target Audience:
This course is targeted to project managers and others who need a basic understanding of right-of-way items. It is not intended for experienced right-of-way professionals.
