General Information

Summary:
An Erosion and Sediment Control (E&S) Plan is required for almost every PennDOT project involving earthwork. The E&S Plan is the least consistent of the Supplemental Plans because it is influenced by outside agencies and limited guidance is available on presentation. In addition, the E&S Plan is the most common source of technical deficiencies for PennDOT waterway permit and NPDES permit applications.
This one-hour webinar describes the standards that should be applied to PennDOT E&S Plans and highlights common errors. The sources for plan notes and details, proper sequencing of best management practice (BMP) installation and removal, and overall presentation will be discussed. Common mistakes and the draft PennDOT E&S Plan checklist will also be discussed in the presentation.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the attendee will be able to:
•Identify the sources for PennDOT E&S Plan standards.
•Distinguish between items required on the E&S Plan and items that are sometimes unnecessarily included on the plan.
•Avoid common errors that are most often commented on by agencies reviewing the plans.
