General Information

Summary:
This course identifies and details the necessary procedures for categorizing, characterizing, managing, transporting, and disposing or recycling of waste streams associated with the Department's Maintenance operations. The course minimizes regulatory details to focus on practical waste management processes.

Learning Outcomes:
Identify basic waste management procedures and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
- Categorize all waste streams;
- Store wastes in an appropriate manner;
- Dispose, recycle and/or beneficially reuse wastes as appropriate;
- Track generated wastes and maintain appropriate records;
- Report information to PADEP, PADGS and/or local municipal authorities as appropriate;
- Understand who to contact for help.
