General Information

Summary:
This webinar will build on the “Introduction to the Highway Safety Manual” webinar.
Application of safety performance functions and crash modification factors, developed explicitly
for Pennsylvania, will be demonstrated for a two-lane rural highway segment and
intersection. Methods to employ the crash prediction algorithm for planned and existing
roadways will be described.

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will gain an understanding of the application of safety performance functions and
crash modification factors as well as methods to employ the crash prediction algorithm for
planned and existing roadways.

The course is intended for practitioners within the highway transportation industry.
