Description:
Lesson 5 - ESPC Plans - explains the various parts of the Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control (ESPC) Plan and how to find information needed to perform inspections .

This is the fifth in a series of lessons in the training module for Construction Stormwater Inspections (CSI) that PennDOT performs as part of its Compliance Management Program (CMP). It is mandatory for construction inspectors who perform visual site inspections of erosion and sediment pollution control measures on projects that require coverage under a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit for Discharges of Stormwater Associated with Construction Activities.

Course Type Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Understand the basic components and layout of an ESPC Plan for Department projects.
- Utilize the drawing details and plan views to verify proper installation of E&S controls.
- Identify the project's limits of disturbance and the NPDES Permit boundary.
- Locate the waste disposal instructions on the plan.

Important Information:
In order to receive credit for completion of the lesson, the participant must successfully answer one or more questions at the end of the lesson and (for consultants) follow instructions to submit their results to PennDOT.
