General Information

Summary:
This course provides basic instruction in the principles and practices of guardrail installation and performance. Participants will evaluate existing installations for prepare performance characteristics

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
• Explain the "Roadside Safety" problem and the warrants for barrier.
• Explain how barrier systems operate.
• Describe the installation principles necessary for proper barrier operation.
• Describe the installation principles necessary for proper terminal operation.
• Inspect barrier systems for proper installation and operation

Target Audience:
The target audience is primarily individuals who install guardrail; however, the course is also appropriate for inspectors of guardrail installations.

Awarding continuing education credits (PDH/CEU/CEH) to a training course or other training event does not imply or guarantee that the training course/event is approved by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Land Surveyors.
