Summary:
SHRP2 Project R21 -HMA/PCC Composite Pavement Systems workshop focuses on new composite pavement systems featuring the placement of a new hot-mix asphalt (HMA) on a new Portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement. Information is presented on the use and application of HMA/PCC composite pavements, along with details on how these pavements are designed and constructed

Learning Outcomes:
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants shall be able to:
• Describe the concepts of composite pavement systems.
• Identify conditions when HMA/PCC new pavement systems are appropriate.
• List the design components for HMA/PCC new composite pavement systems.
• Describe the process for constructing HMA/PCC new composite pavement systems.
