General Information

Summary:	The purpose of the Design Manual 2-Highway Design is to provide its users with the current, uniform procedures and guidelines for the application and design of safe, convenient, efficient and attractive highways that are compatible with their service characteristics and that optimally satisfy the needs of highway users while maintaining the integrity of the environment. The Design Manual 2 criteria has been updated to be effective July 1, 2013. This DM 2-Highway Design Changes Webinar will provide an overview of the principal changes to the Design Manual 2 criteria, particularly in vertical clearances, Roundabouts, guide rail and roadside safety devices, ADA, and lighting. Additionally, clarification of FEMA guidance will be presented.
Learning Outcomes:	Upon successful completion of this course, the attendee will: 1. Provide a brief overview of vertical clearances, and Roundabouts changes. 2. Discuss lighting changes. 3. Present the ADA changes. 4. Discuss the FEMA guidance. 5. Provide the guide rail and roadside safety devices changes.
Target Audience:	All professional licensees in PennDOT and anyone interested in learning about DM 2-Highway Design Changes.
