Summary: | Course is designed for District Engineers, Project Engineers, all ROW personnel and field personnel who are working on projects involving federal-aid funding. The course is designed to provide participants with a clear understanding of the Public Law 91-647, the Uniform Relocation and Real Properties Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as amended. Participants will be provide a copy of the Uniform Act, federal rules and regulations and each will be discussed at length. Mandatory requirements of the Uniform Act and rules and regulations will be presented w/discussion of each requirement and background on specific program activities that will provide the participants with a thorough background understanding of the federal requirements. A question and answer period will be provided to allow for case specific discussions.

Learning Outcomes: | 1.Understand historical background of the Uniform Act and specific statutory requirements included in Titles I, II and III 2.Understand the requirements of 23 CFR Part 710 and how it relates directly to DOT agencies (Highways) and special program guidance not available to other non-highway agencies. 3.Understand the requirements of 49 CFR Part 49 as it relates to specific program directives and disciplines. Rules and regulations for appraisal, acquisition, negotiation and relocation will be understood and where to locate these items. 4.Participants will be provided information on where to go to access on-line, web-based information and guidance material to assist them in project related activities.
