General Information
Summary:
This course will provide an introduction to the 3D surface, now known as the terrain model in OpenRoads Designer. We will learn how to define the terrain model features, display and annotate terrain model features, control the terrain model as a reference, and analyze a terrain model.
You will also learn how to use tools to attach and display the LiDAR data files, import and create a terrain model utilizing scan data, and create a complex terrain model consisting of both conventional survey data and various sources.

Reference and Activate a Terrain Model; Use Override Symbology and Element Templates; Label Terrain Contours and Spots;

Introduction to OpenRoads Designer (not required)

Target Audience:
New students should have priority over previously-trained District users.
New users need to take the OpenRoads Designer courses 1-6 in order. For users that already took the OpenRoads Designer - Roadway course previously offered as a 2-week class, they can sign up for any or all of the classes individually.
Special Materials:
Students will be required to have OpenRoads Designer 2022 R1 (10.11.00.115) software installed on their laptop.
Students will be required to have the current PennDOT CADD workspace on their local hard drive.
Students will need to have access to the OpenRoads Designer training materials in Microsoft Teams.
Students will need to have a prior knowledge of how to use Microsoft Teams to attend and participate in the virtual class.
