General Information

Summary:
Roadside barriers, at times, are required to shield motorists from natural or man-made obstructions. The primary purpose of all roadside barriers is to prevent a vehicle from leaving the traveled way and striking a fixed object or terrain feature that is less forgiving than the barrier itself. Guiderail end terminals are such barrier systems.
This webinar will provide information on the engineering need for guiderail end terminals and when they should be used. Additionally, safety testing and performance capabilities of terminals will be discussed, along with proper installation considerations. Common errors in installation will also be presented, along with considerations for maintaining terminals

Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the attendee will be able to:
•Describe when end terminals should be installed and how to avoid common errors.
•Describe design capabilities of end terminals and how they perform.
•Identify considerations for maintenance of terminals.
