General Information

Summary:
A two and one half day (14 hours of instruction) review course, for asphalt technicians directly involved with asphalt pavement construction, field testing, and field inspection. Best paving practices, PennDOT specifications, and referenced test methods will be reviewed. A certification exam will be given on the third day.

Prerequisites:
This is a review course, not a training course. A working knowledge of basic asphalt pavement construction principles and procedures is necessary. A minimum of one year of experience (minimum 500 hours) and a recommendation signature by a certified Asphalt Field Technician or a company Field Superintendent and a District Assistant Construction Engineer/Manager (ACE/ACM) or their designate is required to qualify for this course.

Target Audience:
PennDOT and consultant Asphalt Field Inspectors/Technicians and Contractor Paving Quality Control Technicians

Special Materials:
This is considered Out-Service Training for PennDOT attendees; business partners may attend. All attendees MUST register directly with NECEPT. Upon confirmation from NECEPT, PennDOT attendees must also be registered in LSO.
