General Information

Summary:
This course has been rewritten to provide the Assistant Construction Engineer or Manager (ACE/M) with the skills to better manage projects and project-related issues. The course will teach the ACE/M how to build a strong project team by coaching and developing new ACE's faster, more efficiently, and consistently. The ACE/M will learn how to identify and arbitrate issues, and guide subordinates accordingly, as well as acquire the knowledge necessary to instruct project staff in order to facilitate administrative tasks.
This course closely follows the new ACE/M Manual (PUB 80).

Learning Outcomes:
Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this session, the Assistant Construction Engineer/Manager, or ACE/M, will be prepared to better manage projects and project-related issues. Operationally, the ACE/M will be prepared to:
1. Build a strong project team by coaching and developing new ACE/Ms faster, more efficiently, and consistently;
2. Identify and arbitrate issues, and then guide subordinates accordingly;
3. Acquire the knowledge necessary to instruct project staff in order to facilitate administrative tasks.

Teaching Method:
This will be an interactive, in-person instructor-led class.

Prerequisites:
Attendees should have reviewed and be familiar with PUB 80, (available from PennDOT Forms & PUBs)

Target Audience:
Assistant Construction Engineers/Managers (ACE/Ms) and Inspectors-in-Charge expecting to be promoted to an ACE position.
