Summary:
Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC)Connections for Prefabricated Bridge Elements
The Federal Highway Administration is presenting the UHPC Workshop, Ultra-High Performance Concrete Connections for Prefabricated Bridge Elements to PennDOT. The purpose of the workshops is to facilitate the implementation of UHPC for prefabricated bridge connections by transportation agencies.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, participants will:
- have with a greater understanding of what UHPC is,
- know the benefits of using UHPC for connecting prefabricated bridge elements,
- know where to obtain the information necessary to use UHPC for prefabricated bridge connections.
- have an overview of PennDOT’s UHPC implementation strategy, construction specifications and design details

Teaching Method:
Instructor Led

Prerequisites:
Participants are encouraged to review The FHWA guidelines on the Design & Construction of Field-Cast UHPC Connections, FHWA-HRT-14-084 which can be accessed at the following link. http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/publications/research/infrastructure/structures/14084/index.cfm.
Copies of the guidelines will be provided to workshop attendees.

Target Audience:
Bridge Design, Structure Control Engineers, District Bridge Engineers, Central Office Bridge personnel, Bob Horwhat, and Patricia Miller from the Lab.
