General Information

Summary:
Provide annual training for newly appointed Highway Maintenance Managers. This is not intended to be technical hands on SAP Plant Maintenance training.
Hotel accommodations will be coordinated by Central Offices Highway Admin Training Travel Coordinator.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course you will be able to:
• Describe how a county maintenance organization can manage in accordance with PennDOT policies and the AFSCME contract.
• Network with peers and establish links to experienced experts in key areas of county maintenance operations.
• Use Department manuals and guides to locate information.
• Explain your role in labor relations and equal employment
• Describe the benefits of maintenance planning
• Illustrate the advantages of using performance metrics
• Describe the ePayroll process and the importance of the payroll process and how it ties to maintenance planning

Target Audience:
Preference for attendance is new County Maintenance Managers appointed during the prior year. Other targeted classifications include Assistant Highway Maintenance Managers, District Maintenance Managers, County Equipment Managers, County Maintenance Managers, Roadway Program Coordinators / Business Managers and other classifications an Assistant District Engineer for Maintenance deems appropriate. 2 participants per district.
