Description:	This self-study course is designed to assist in preparing for the Pennsylvania Land Surveyor (PLS) Examination by providing PennDOT employees access to a "Study Guide for the PLS Examination on Pennsylvania Property Law" (Study Guide) and a copy of the "Boundary Retracement Principles and Procedures for Pennsylvania". The attached Study Guide includes short sections on how to prepare for and take the PLS Examination, test taking tips, and sample questions. This course is awarded 8 PDHs (6 PDHs for course work and 2 PDHs for exam completion) by PennDOT. PennDOT employees should contact their District Chief of Surveys to borrow the reference books needed to complete this course, and download the attached Study Guide. For PennDOT employees only, if you want a Certificate of Completion for this course, complete the exam in the attached Study Guide using the attached Answer Sheet. Follow the directions in the Study Guide to forward the Answer Sheet to the Technical Training and Development Section. Upon receipt of the Answer Sheet, you will be sent a Certificate of Completion, the answers to the exam, and your PennDOT training record will be updated. Business Partners and other state agencies are allowed to access and download the Study Guide. Information on where to purchase the two reference books is provided in the Study Guide. Business Partners and other state agencies must maintain their own training documentation for this self-study course; PennDOT's Technical Training and Development Section cannot verify or issue a certificate to Business Partners and other state agencies for self-study. Business Partners and other state agencies can contact the Technical Training and Development Section for answers to the exam.
