General Information
Summary:
The Concrete Overlay Field Application Program is administered by FHWA and the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center (CP Tech Center). The overall objective of this Program is to increase the awareness and knowledge of concrete overlay applications among state DOTs, contractors, and consultants. PennDOT elected to be one of six states to participate in the FHWA/CP Tech Center Program. PennDOT selected a 2.2 mile long section of SR 119, Section 21R in Fayette County to implement the initial concrete overlay efforts.
This Webinar will provide an overview of concrete overlay applications. Information will be provided on the differences between bonded, unbonded and composite concrete overlays along with their benefits. Additionally, information regarding the six-inch bonded concrete overlay project on the 5-lane roadway on SR 119 will be provided. The common construction issues and resolutions will also be identified.
