Summary: | Contractor compliance with various environmental permits and regulations during construction is important to avoid Notices of Violations. This training will provide a better understanding of the permitting process and the associated regulatory agencies that have jurisdiction, as well as providing an overview of the steps needed to understand and comply with environmental permits, NEPA, and community standards.

Learning Outcomes: | Upon successful completion of this course, the attendee will be able to: •Describe the difference between regulatory agencies and cooperating agencies/commissions, and explain their compliance authority. •Identify permit agencies and the cooperating agencies that are most often encountered on a construction site, and state their areas of responsibility. •Explain three types of environmental permits normally issued for a construction project, and state under what circumstances each permit is required. •List the required actions when a contractor encounters unexpected environmental conditions including wetlands, archaeological sites, and historic sites.
